IntaskHub connects Students who need academic assistance with Experts who complete assignments for payment. To provide this service — matching, messaging, video calls, payments, verification, and support — we need to collect and process certain information about you. This policy applies to everyone who uses IntaskHub, whether as a Student, an Expert, or a visitor browsing without an account.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide directly:
- Account details — name, email address, password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text), and role (Student or Expert).
- Profile information — avatar, cover photo, bio, country, language, skills, education, work experience, portfolio links, and your rate range if you're an Expert.
- Assignment content — titles, descriptions, budgets, deadlines, tags, and any files you upload.
- Messages, voice notes, and files exchanged with other users inside workspaces or connections.
- Verification information — such as a phone number for phone verification, or documents you choose to submit for identity/qualification verification.
- Payment information — processed by our third-party payment gateway providers. We do not store your full card number.
- Anything you send us directly, such as support requests or dispute details.
Information collected automatically:
- Usage data — pages visited, actions taken (such as viewing or liking an assignment), device and browser type, and approximate location derived from IP address.
- Log data — access times, error logs, and similar technical diagnostics that help us keep the platform reliable and secure.
3. How we use your information
- To operate core features — matching Students with Experts, processing bids, running workspaces, and handling payments.
- To communicate with you — notifications about bids, messages, deliveries, disputes, and account activity, and (if you opt in) product updates.
- To maintain trust and safety — verifying accounts, investigating disputes, detecting fraud or abuse, and enforcing our Terms of Service.
- To improve the platform — understanding how features are used so we can fix problems and build better tools.
- To comply with legal obligations, such as responding to lawful requests from authorities.
4. Cookies & similar technologies
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences (such as your chosen theme). We do not use third-party advertising trackers. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may prevent you from staying signed in.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in these circumstances:
- With other users, as intended by the platform — for example, your name, avatar, and rating are visible to a Student or Expert you're matched with, and your assignment details are visible to Experts eligible to bid on it.
- With service providers who help us operate the platform, such as payment gateways, email delivery providers, and cloud hosting — bound by confidentiality obligations and only given the access needed to perform their function.
- For legal reasons — if required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of IntaskHub, our users, or the public.
- With your consent — for any other purpose we disclose to you at the time of collection.
6. Data security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted password storage, access controls, and secure transmission (HTTPS) across the platform. No system is completely secure, so while we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately.
7. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements — for example, transaction and dispute records may be retained longer than casual profile data to satisfy financial record-keeping requirements. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time, as described in Section 8.
8. Your rights & choices
- Access & correction — you can review and update most of your profile information directly from your account settings at any time.
- Deletion — you can request deletion of your account and personal data by contacting us; we will action this except where we're required to retain certain records (for example, completed transaction history) for legal or accounting purposes.
- Notification preferences — you can control which email notifications you receive from your account settings.
- Data portability — you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
9. Children's privacy
IntaskHub is intended for users who meet the minimum age required by the laws of their jurisdiction to hold an account and enter into agreements. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
10. International users
IntaskHub may be used by Students and Experts in different countries. By using the platform, you understand that your information may be processed and stored in a country other than your own, which may have different data protection laws than your home jurisdiction.
